Yuji Itadori is the main character of Gege Akutami’s popular anime and manga series Jujutsu Kaisen. His comrades refer to him as ‘Itadori’ or ‘Itadori-kun’, but he is also known as Sukuna’s vessel. He is the grandson of Wasuke Itadori and the son of Jin Itadori.
Yuji Itadori is claimed to have had a regular life until he met Megumi Fushiguro one day and swallowed one of Ryomen Sukuna’s twenty fingers, becoming the King of Curses’ vessel.
Overall, the character Yuji Itadori has won many hearts and garnered a lot of great feedback from the critics. His character growth drew the most attention though since he was a truly one-of-a-kind Shonen protagonist in the anime.

Aspect
Yuji Itadori originally appears in the anime as a peculiar 15-year-old average height young man with a slim build. He lived with his Grandfather, Wasuke Itadori, and was also a member of his high school’s Occult Club. Additionally, he has relatively large light brown eyes and spiky pink hair (brownish blonde in the manga) styled in an undercut.
He lived a normal life until he met Megumi and ate one of Sukuna’s fingers. However, once he becomes Sukuna’s vessel, he obtains a strong muscular physique and receives a second set of eyes along with many markings that only open while Sukuna is awake in his body. When Yuji became Sukuna’s vessel, he began attending Tokyo Jujutsu High with Megumi and Nobara as first-year students.
Yuji, like every other student at Jujutsu High, wears a bespoke uniform consisting of a black long-sleeved shirt over a bright red hoodie and black pants with red shoes.
Powers and abilities
Yuji Itadori is one of the most gifted and powerful students. Even without supernatural abilities, Yuji possesses superhuman strength, demonstrating feats such as throwing a car as seen in the series. The “Divergent Fist” technique causes his cursed energy to have a delay owing to his inability to keep up with his pace.
Yuji possesses extraordinary physical talents, which he expertly blends with his cursed energy. Yuji can also hold Sukuna without any negative consequences. He is portrayed as a capable learner, a curious individual, and a dedicated student. He is even a natural at moving forward. Yuji also has a lot of stamina, as evidenced by his ability to battle for longer lengths of time without resting even despite severe injuries.
Enhanced Speed and Reflexes:
Yuji shows great speed as he finishes a 50-meter track within 3 seconds, showing he can run at speeds of 60.12km/h (37.3mph). Additionally, he dodged all five attacks of the opposing sorcerers from the Kyoto School who tried to murder him.
Enhanced Durability:
Yuji is more durable than the average sorcerer. Even Piercing Blood, a fast-moving attack, which does not pierce instantly, did not penetrate Yuji during their fight.
Weapon Mastery:
Despite not having any training in the use of weapons, Yuji was still able to become proficient with one quickly due to his physical abilities.
Satoru Gojo places him on the same level as Yuta Okkotsu and Kinji Hakari as one of the three students he believes will surpass his strength.
Character temperament
Yuji is portrayed as naïve, attentive and adorable with a sweet demeanour in the anime, despite being possessed by the evil spirit, Sukuna. Yuji is a fair person who genuinely loves and cares for his colleagues, and he firmly and unwaveringly believes in ‘the value of life’ believing that everyone deserves a suitable funeral or farewell. He also refrains from killing anyone while being possessed since he believes it is disreputable for him to do so.
Yuji is also known for his extroverted and active personality. We can see this in the anime series, as he frequently uses humorous gestures and moments. He is quite endearing, which is why he has so many followers or fans all across the world.
