In Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Nezuko Kamado is the deuteragonist. She is the younger sister of Tanjiro Kamado, as well as one of two remaining members of the Kamado family. She was brutally assaulted by Muzan Kibutsuji, who turned her into a demon.

Creation and development
Nazuko’s character was created by mangaka Koyoharu Gotouge to make the lead Tanjiro Kamado more unique. Due to Nezuko being a demon, Tanjiro cannot bring himself to hate the demons he faces, instead of finding himself in a gray area of black and white morality. Due to this, the manga took on a more original narrative that easily engaged the readers, according to the author’s editor and other assistants.
Although Nezuko has been silent since the first episode, anime producer Yuma Takahashi says the staff could add more emotion and change the facial expression. With those advantages, they were able to give these characters more depth. According to Takahashi, he wanted viewers to look forward to Nezuko’s development and the range of emotions she can express. It expresses the determination of Tanjiro, who stands up from despair and struggles to protect his younger sister.
Nazuko’s Appearance
Nezuko is a petite young girl with fair skin, large, prominent fangs, and pink stiletto nails that fade to a red-pinkish color at the tip. She has long, black, and wavy hair. She wears her hair side-swept to the left, crimped into large, straight ridges, reaching just below her waist. As it passes her elbows, it turns a flame-orange color. Pale pink eyes with a lighter rim appear slanted downward toward the sides of her face and framed by noticeable long eyelashes. Her pupils appear slit as she transforms.
Nezuko sometimes appears with multiple bows in the manga. Tanjiro Kamado claimed that Nezuko was one of the most beautiful women in their hometown
In the process of changing to her awakened form during her battle with Daki, Nezuko loses her gag, boots, and sleeves of both her kimono and haori. Her most distinguishing new feature is a red and green vine-like pattern that covers most of her arms, legs, and chest. She also grows a small white horn on the right side of her forehead, and a vein-like pattern around her left eye.
In appearance, she was similar to a human, with the main differences being her lack of demon-like characteristics, vermilion hair, and light pink eyes. Unlike Nezuko, who had completely black hair tied back in three low buns and adorned with pink ribbons, she had dark red eyes that appeared pale pink near the bottom of her iris. She wore the same kimono as before, but without the haori, and a white Onbuhimo cloth tied around her waist, which she used to carry her younger brother on her back.
Personality
Nezuko’s warm demeanor. As a demon, Nezuko appears to have lost many of her own human memories except for those pertaining to her family, and so has little recollection of her old self. She is still highly compassionate and protective of people she considers to be members of her family, owing largely to the impact Sakonji Urokodaki had on her when she was sleeping for two years. Despite being considerably calmer and less nasty than most demons, Nezuko still shows some human emotion, as she has been observed to cry when sad and to smile when happy. In addition to her brothers, Nezuko sees their images in other people, such as Rokuta Kamado in Yushiro.
Since becoming a demon, Nezuko has grown quite brash and does not appear to fear combat; she passionately protects both her brother and her companions. Despite severe damage or exposure to human blood, she is unwilling to eat human flesh or blood, as evident by her refusal to bite Sanemi Shinazugawa after he attempts to entice her with Marechi blood.
Despite no longer being a demon, her strong will shows itself in her voluntary jump in front of Inosuke to defend him from her brother, who turned into a demon and was trying to kill everyone around him. Despite the risk of death, Nezuko defended her brother.
Nezuko’s initial human demeanor was that of a compassionate and kind girl who put others ahead of herself, much like her elder brother, Tanjiro. She was also a responsible elder sister to her younger siblings, frequently putting their needs ahead of her own. Nezuko, on the other hand, is not hesitant to put herself in danger, protecting her allies from demons even after being back to human form. It is also demonstrated that when Tanjiro apologised to Nezuko, her kind, laid-back personality verifies this reality.
Nezuko Kamado Powers
Nezuko has several powers, including regeneration, superhuman strength, and the ability to grow and shrink rapidly. She also has a blood demon technique called Exploding Blood, which causes her blood to burn.
Overall Capabilities: Though Nezuko is not a member of the twelve upper moons she is an extremely strong demon. Her most notable characteristics are her rapid growth rate, which may be related to a large amount of blood she got from Muzan Kibutsuji when he converted Nezuko into a demon. The fact that she does not need to eat humans to survive. This was seen in several bouts throughout the series where she was able to vanquish her opponents despite being overpowered by them at first. In desperate situations, she has demonstrated her ability to vanquish her opponents by improving her physical powers, strengthening her regeneration, or developing her own Blood Demon Art.
Nezuko is a young demon but she has demonstrated considerable fighting expertise and ability in battle, easily defeating the Temple Demon and the Swamp Demons. Nezuko’s accelerated growth appears to mirror Tanjiro’s incredible growth rate, as she could take on members of the Twelve Kizuki and match Upper-Rank demons in months.
