Reincarnated as a Sword also known as Tensei shitara Ken Deshita is a Japanese light novel series by Yuu Tanaka and illustrated by Llo. It started as a web novel series on Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in October 2015. Later on, Micro Magazine published the series as a light novel, making its debut as a novel in July 2016, and is continuing to present with 14 volumes.

The series also got a manga adaptation with Tomowo Maruyama as its illustrator and Genstosha as its publisher. The manga series debuted in December 2016 and has 12 volumes now. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed both the light novel and manga. Now, the series is getting adapted into an anime by the C2C studio. It premiered on 5 October 2022.

The story starts when our main character, who perished in a car accident[ By Truck Kun], is reincarnated as a sword in a different world, where he has no memory of his name but recalls everything else from his previous life. Accepting his fate as a sword, he sets out to find a wielder. The story moves forward with him finding a wielder and moving forward with his new identity as a sword.

Tensei shitara Ken Deshita Plot

The 30-year-old protagonist, who died in a car accident, is reincarnated as a sword in a different world, where he has no recollection of his previous life’s name however, he recalls everything else. He starts looking for someone to use him after accepting his destiny as a sword. So he starts leveling up by himself so that his wilder get enough power.

He comes across a group of slave traders who are being attacked by a two-headed bear. Fran, a young Black catgirl slave, discovers and uses the sword to slaughter the bear. After being freed from slavery, she names the sword “Teacher,” and the two embark on an adventure together.
