In the manga/anime series My Hero Academia, Tenya Lida’s character plays a significant part. Turbo Hero: Ingenium is his alias as a hero. He, like the rest of the students at U.A. High School, is also studying to become a Pro Hero. At U.A. High School, Tenya is also the Class 1-A representative. He’s a studious young man who appears severe and frightening at first glance, but he’s simply being truthful and rigid about his eligibility to become a Pro Hero. Tenya’s special ability is Engine, which allows him to travel at superhuman speeds thanks to jet engines in his leg. In the My Hero Academia series, he is one of the main characters who stand alongside Izuku Midoriya.

In the Japanese adaptation of the anime series, he is voiced by Kaito Ishikawa.

Appearance

Tenya is a tall, strong young man with a broad physique. He has short dark blue hair that is neatly parted on the right side of his head, a little patch of hair that is entirely shaved around the base of his head, and quite square eyes that match his jaw’s prominent pointed shape. He has a serious expression on his face, and his brows appear to be permanently pointed inwards. His brows are thin and long in length, with the far ends sharply hooked inwards, and he wears rectangular-lens glasses. His calves are thick and formed like an automotive engine, with six silver exhaust pipes projecting from each leg in three columns.

His Hero outfit consists of a black one-piece suit with a high collar, over which he wears a chest plate and several pieces of pale silver Armor. He’s got a helmet on that covers his entire face. His armour is incredibly light and does not provide much protection; its primary function is to reduce air resistance rather than to defend him.

Personality and Skills

Tenya has the unmistakable appearance of being harsh and menacing. He is, nonetheless, a simple, clever, and disciplined individual. He often has distinct tics, such as jerking his arms in a specific way or suddenly constricting his body, as a result of his typically hyperactive and intense behaviour. He does, however, rarely stray from his typical solemn demeanour. He has a habit of taking everything very seriously and jumping to conclusions.

Tenya is a hardworking student. He has a strong desire to study new things. But he is also fixated on the concept of discipline. As the class representative, he sees himself as the person in charge of everyone in the room.

Tanya’s primary ability is Engine, which is also his Quirk. It appears on his calves as engine-like tubes, granting him extraordinary speed and kicking strength. Tenya’s engines contain several gears, and in order for his Quirk to work, he needs exhaust pipes on the backs of his legs. Tenya’s motors require fuel, which he obtains by sipping orange juice.

His older brother, Ingenium, encouraged him to become a hero who would make his family proud.
