Zaraki Kenpachi is one of the most important characters in the Bleach series. is the current captain of the Gotei 13’s 11th Division. He is the eleventh Kenpachi(Title only given to the strongest Shinigami) to serve in this capacity. Yachiru Kusajishi was his first lieutenant, and Ikkaku Madarame is his current lieutenant.

Appearance:

Kenpachi is a tall, muscular Shinigami with a wild, violent demeanor that matches his demeanor. He has a long face with prominent cheekbones and brow ridges that are hairless. He has green eyes and black hair that is lengthy and stringy. A long, thin scar running down the left side of his face and across his left eye, inflicted on him by Retsu Unohana while he was still a youngster, is a distinguishing feature of his look.

During his baths, he curls his hair into stiff strands and attaches little bells to the tips, and he wears a distinctive black eyepatch over his right eye. The eyepatch is more exquisite during his first encounter with Ichigo, with a gold-like lining and a chain as one of the straps.

Kenpachi’s hair has grown past his shoulders 17 months after Aizen’s defeat. The bells are no longer in his hair. The design of his eyepatch has altered again, and it is now a single piece that covers his right eye. The black eyepatch has a grey outline.

Personality:

Despite his reputation as a harsh warrior, Kenpachi’s actions are usually for the better. Kenpachi thrives on combat and loves nothing more than a good fight. He even holds back in an attempt to prolong any conflict. He claims that injuries and death are simply the cost of a successful fight.

Kenpachi’s distinctive haircut is due in part to his daily habit of bathing before going to bed, which is a requirement for him due to his heavy perspiration. He generally shampoos his hair with soap during these baths, making it stiff. He enjoys it because he can easily style his hair in his favorite style.

In battle, Kenpachi occasionally defies his own logic. Kenpachi, on the one hand, desires to strengthen his personal authority. He, on the other hand, suppresses his strength in order to prolong the struggle. Kenpachi, despite his desire to fight, is a human being with feelings. Kenpachi and his lieutenant, Yachiru, have had a father-daughter relationship since they met, and Yachiru is one of the few people he cares about.

Though he retains his urge to battle and is not particularly concerned with the details, Kenpachi became calmer and more focused after killing Unohana and eventually knowing the name of his Zanpakuto.

Abilities:

Incredible Physicality: Kenpachi has demonstrated tremendous physicality. During his fight with Ichigo, he demonstrated his striking strength by destroying many buildings in a single slice and causing earthquakes with his assaults. He is also extremely tough, as he shows no pain when injured, and despite his lack of speed, he has excellent reflexes, as evidenced by his ability to keep up with Byakuya Kuchiki when fighting Yammy Largo.

• Intelligence: Despite his legendary raw strength, he has demonstrated exceptional intelligence throughout the series. He has highly competent swordsmanship, as well as being very devious and perceptive in the fight, and can identify exploits and vulnerabilities in his opponents and their patterns.
• Monstrous Spiritual Power: Even by Captain’s standards, Kenpachi has the most monstrous spiritual power. Even when wearing his energy-sealing eye patch, he can battle evenly against two captain-level opponents, even when their Zanpakut’s Bankai is being released. Ganju compared his Spiritual Power to Byakuya’s Reiatsu at one point. His spiritual force can also manifest itself in the form of a yellow-colored skull. He also acquires a lot more control over his Reiatsu and can now stand in mid-air.
• Reiatsu Control: Kenpachi’s spiritual force has the ability to affect vast areas. His rogue Reiatsu is so powerful that it may affect adversaries and force others miles away to become paralyzed and confused. He has the ability to repel Konjiki’s poison by exerting his Reiatsu enough.
• Ryodan: Bisection allows him to slice his opponent through the middle by clutching his sword with two hands.
