After managing to slip past everyone and go into the abyss, Riko and her robotic friend, Reg, are stunned by the beauty of the place. However, they soon find out that they had no idea what they were going into as dangers surround them from all ends and cause a lot of misery.

While the series looks like fun adventure anime at first, Made in Abyss is an amazing piece of dark fantasy with several scenes that even disturb audiences.

We watch as he goes from a talentless boy to the savior of the world while facing several hurdles and losses which contribute to developing him into a dependable man. Naruto has amazing world-building and many twists which have played a huge part in helping it achieve its popularity.

With an amazing cast of main characters, an addictive soundtrack and several surprising turns of events, this is a gem in the sci-fi genre.

As a member of the Big 3 animes, Bleach has one of the biggest fan bases out there. This amazing Shounen series revolves around a young boy named Ichigo Kurosaki as he is forced to become a soul reaper who works towards protecting humanity and defeating evil spirits known as Hollows.

While the series starts off with this simple distinction between good and evil, it soon evolves into a much larger scale as we are introduced to the Soul Society and several other threats which could be fatal to the world. Known for its amazing side characters and being inspired by a variety of cultural influences, the series still remains unique to this day.

The reveal of its main villain, Aizen, is also one of the most surprising and unexpected plot twists ever in anime.

In addition to having a brilliant protagonist and several epic moments, Code Geass is filled with twists and turns in the story which leaves us in shock. From deaths of fan-favorite characters to battles of wit, the series has more than earned its acclaim.

Death Note has become a worldwide phenomenon due to its one-of-a-kind story and bold writing. It features a boy named Light Yagami who gets a notebook that allows him to kill anyone by writing their name on it.

Using this, he decides to hand out his own twisted version of justice and play god. With the police being unable to find him, they hire a genius detective named L to take him on. The battle between these two is extremely gripping while featuring moments that blow our minds.

As the greatest dark manga ever made, it features a man named Guts who joins a mercenary group led by its charismatic leader, Griffith. While experiencing several things together, he forms a close bond with all its members and becomes a renowned warrior.

However, right when things seem like they couldn’t get any better, a devious plan is revealed which would change the entire power structure of the world. While the series itself contains several surprising moments, none quite hold up to its game-changing twist, popularly known as the Eclipse, which has cemented its position at the top of this list.
