Five years after Classroom of the Elite’s first season was broadcast, the TV anime adaptation of Shogo Kinugasa’s light novel series has been given the green light for a second season! The official Twitter account of the Classroom of the Elite franchise announced a TV anime sequel, which will be season 2.
On March 6, 2022, KADOKAWA will present a presentation about the project on its YouTube channel. Here is the new visual for the anime:
In May 2015, KADOKAWA’s light novel imprint MF Bunko J began publishing the series. As of today, the entire series has printed more than six million copies (including digital editions). The first season of the TV anime adaptation produced by Lerche aired from July to September of 2017. It was based on the first three volumes of the novel.
Season 1 Plot:
“Classroom of the Elite” is based on the manga and light novel series of the same name. Its protagonist, Kiyotaka Ayanokōji, is secretly a super-genius who purposefully puts himself in the school’s lowest ranks. In his first few days at the school, Kiyotaka learns that the school’s academic success is based more on sabotage than on education, so he decides to protect himself and his friends as they climb the school’s ranks.
When will Classroom of the Elite Season 2 release?
The highly anticipated new season will begin airing in July 2022. The official trailer also confirms that season 3 will release in 2023. It is confirmed that the anime’s two main voice actors, Shoya Chiba (Kiyotaka Ayanokoji) and Yurika Kubo (Kikyou Kushida) will join.
We are expecting that season 2 will be released the next winter.
What is the story of Classroom of the Elite Season 2?
The first season of “Classroom of the Elite” ends with Kiyotaka winning the school’s “Lord of the Flies-style” survival test by correctly identifying the class leaders. After he wins, he learns, however, that his father has been trying to have him expelled from the school. This is likely related to Kiyotaka’s unspoken reason for attending the school in the first place. Kiyotaka, however, is determined to continue studying there no matter what.
If it follows in the footsteps of season 1, “Classroom of the Elite” Season 2 will likely stay at least mostly faithful to its manga and light novel sources. There is no clear explanation for why Kiyotaka is attending this cutthroat school. Furthermore, he has yet to truly rise up the ranks in terms of his class’ academic success, and it is uncertain how his father’s influence might affect this goal. Evidently, these are all plot threads that Lerche is bound to continue if it ever follows through on creating “Classroom of the Elite” Season 2.
Season 2 of this anime series will probably follow Volume 4, so the next story should be the group battles back on the cruise ship. However, this time all the students have been divided into 12 groups based on their respective zodiac signs. There will be no survival involved in this challenge, but each group will have to figure out which VIP is in the other group. Despite that, the competition between classes was hindered by the test, and the elites realized the purpose of the test and began manipulating its outcome. There will be plenty of drama in the second season.
Volume 6 is where the second season of ‘Classroom of the Elite’ will possibly end.
